Birth and Naming Rituals
Birth and Naming Rituals
Welcoming the Newest Members of our family
We celebrate the arrival of the youngest members of our community by bringing them into the covenant of Abraham through the ritual of b’rit milah (or bris) (circumcision and naming of a son) and brit bat (the celebration of the birth and naming of a daughter). We will work with you to make these moments significant and meaningful, tailoring the Jewish ceremony to suit your family’s needs.
We encourage you to be in touch with the rabbi(s) before the expected birth/arrival of your child. We would be delighted to help you begin to think about and plan for these ceremonies. We can also suggest some reading material that may be helpful to you.
Blessings and Naming ceremonies often occur at the synagogue during a Shabbat evening service. If you have additional questions regarding scheduling your simcha please contact the office at, (414) 352-9288.
