ShalomCantor. This is the name of Congregation Shalom’s celebratory year for Cantor Karen Berman leading up to her retirement in summer 2020. A number of special events are planned to recognize, honor, and most importantly THANK Cantor Karen Berman for her many years of service to Congregation Shalom and to the Jewish community at large.

In the meantime, save these dates:

Sunday, February 2, 2020

Our Religious and Hebrew School will host a celebration for Cantor Karen so our students and teachers can say thank you for Cantor’s more than three decades of music and education.

Friday, March 20, 2020

A "Choir Shabbat service" has been added to further acknowledge Cantor Karen. Stay tuned for further details!

Sunday, April 5, 2020

How could we end without having a musical concert for our beloved Cantor?

Saturday, May 30, 2020

Our pinnacle event, the Celebration Honoring Cantor Karen will offer current and past members, students, colleagues, associates, and all who love and have been touched by Cantor Karen an opportunity to wish her well.

Friday, June 26, 2020

This is the last official attendance of Cantor Karen at our Shabbat service, and we could not let it end without a proper l’hitraot.

To accomplish our many goals, volunteers will be needed at all levels. If you are interested in participating—and hopefully you are—please contact us directly at [email protected] If you would like to be notified of all ShalomCantor activities, please sign-up here.
