For questions about any of our choirs call Cantor Berman at (414) 352-9288.
Adult Volunteer Choir
The Shalom Adult Volunteer Choir invites you to join them! This congregational choir rehearses Monday evenings from 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and sings for High Holy Days and for selected Shabbat worship services from September through May. The repertoire covers several genres of music which is rehearsed in an atmosphere of camaraderie as the Adult Choir represents one of the oldest and most established Chavurot in the Congregation Shalom community. The Choir is under the direction of Wendy Traeger and accompanied by organist Paul Kasten. Love of singing is our pre-requisite. All music is in transliteration and the ability to read music is appreciated, but not required.
Womens’ Chorus
This informal choir led by Cantor Berman is an opportunity for women of all ages to learn and sing more contemporary music for our liturgy. This group meets over the summer months and sings for 2 to 3 designated services. Rehearsals are generally the two Tuesdays prior to each selected Shabbat service from 7:00-7:45 p.m.
Youth Choir
Youth Choir is open to all students grades K5 through 10th grade. Rehearsals take place on Sunday mornings during the school year from 11:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. It is the perfect opportunity for young people to be introduced to the music of our worship service, to be a part of a wonderful and supportive school community and to develop skills for performing as a part of an ensemble. Students sing for Family Services, which are at 6:15 p.m. the first Friday of each month, October through May and for the designated Family service for Chanukah. Cantor Karen Berman directs the choir.
